Next StepsThe Problem
- Churches are full of people struggling with pornography use, with 70% of males and 20% of females actively using. First time exposure is getting younger, with 11.5 being the average
- Shame, guilt and isolation are rife amongst Christian users, stifling their faith, fellowship, ministries, and love
- The negative effects include warped attitude and behaviours, distorted sexuality, and reduced wellbeing. Relationships are deeply impacted. Society is marred by an exploitative enterprise that ruins lives, putting our most vulnerable in society at risk
The Solution
- Users need systematic, evidence-based and gospel-centred support in community with others. Forgiveness, empathy, patience, and confidentiality are essential for a sustainable recovery
- Repentance, abstinence, change, and accountability are foundational for healing
- Users need to be informed of the many problems caused by porn
- Users need to develop skills in behaviour change, both practically and spiritually
- Support groups counter isolation, and promote honesty and commitment

What Participants Say
This course has been super helpful and really opened my eyes.
I loved how science and the Bible were combined – it gave me a much more meaningful and holistic view of the effects of porn.
What stood out was the mix of honest truth about porn alongside real empathy for those struggling – that balance is rare.
Doing this with a group was powerful. Being real with each other, looking at every area of porn’s impact, and grounding it all in God’s word really helped. The practical steps, like new habits and hobbies, made a huge difference for me.
I appreciated how the course addressed porn’s seriousness systematically, showing how it affects me and those around me. Sharing openly with others and doing the self control exercises (and finding a hobby) was gold.
It was a holistic and clear approach, grounded in research, scripture, and lived wisdom. The personal action plans, the booklet, and the facilitator made it practical and easy to follow.
Developing a genuine hobby and small, daily habits has been a game changer. I realised I can redirect my mind when triggered. The accountability and solid information gave me real confidence.
The course really tackled both head and heart. The blend of information, Bible reflection, and hands on practice targeting problem behaviours was so thoughtful. The data, exercises, and the facilitator’s support were excellent.
Being part of a cohort kept me accountable, and I valued the balance of conviction from God’s Word with science showing how porn impacts the brain, relationships, society, and faith.
The neuroscience insights were eye opening. Pairing them with the practical tools like habits and hobbies, plus the supportive group and Bible studies, made it a safe and encouraging space for real change.
